RIP Les Paul...
....and please click on the link and read about Les if you are not fully versed in all of his lifetime accomplishments. We wouldn't be where we are as music artists, any of us, without his genius. Thank you Les! Happy trails brother!
To my SF peers and labels:

And, I've got my ear to your rockin' railroad tracks too. You can bet on it! Thank YOU for all the great music YOU make and share! I love listenin' to everyone, artists and labels alike, with much love and support! Y'all freak flag flyin' ROCK!!!
A little about me from the horses mouth...and simply put:
After many moons in the business...and 300 (and counting) songs in my catalog...Lone Wolf was born.
My primary focus as a music artist is writing from the heart and soul of my life experiences and expressing it through full blown studio recordings. It is sharing the culminations of the efforts with y'all that puts a huge smile on my face. And, it makes it all worthwhile for me when others enjoy what I do as much as I love doing it.
Music truly makes the world go 'round...and I wouldn't trade the friends I have made through the connection of music for all the gold in Fort Knox.
As said, there is much more where the songs of Lone Wolf come from...and I can't wait to share them all with y'all.
My debut album, Lone Wolf, was a pure independent project all the way.
Here are the credits:
*Produced by Robert Wayne Hawkins and Ron Rutherford
*Executive Producer: Ron Rutherford - Rarestar Records
*Recorded by Richard P. Robinson
*All tracks, overdubs, mixing and mastering at DIAM Entertainment in LA except the original tracks and overdubs of the song, Lone Wolf, recorded at Muzikjakit Productions in NYC by Larry Russell
*Mixed by Richard P. Robinson, Robert Wayne Hawkins and Ron Rutherford
*Mastered by Richard P. Robinson
The following music artists were masterful in the creation of this album, and their contribution is greatly appreciated. Lone Wolf would not be what it is without these "A" list gunslingers on their respective instruments.
*John Groover McDuffie: Acoustic, Electric, Slide, Pedal Steel, Lap Steel & Lead Guitars, Dobro & Banjo
*Marty Buttwinick: Bass
*Scott Brannon: Drums
*Bill Keis: Keyboards
*Ted Falcon: Fiddle
*Larry Russell: Additional keyboards on "Lone Wolf"
...and yours truly on lead vocals, background vocals, electric guitar on "Damned" and acoustic guitar on "Lone Wolf"
All songs © Ron Rutherford & Rarestar Music (ASCAP)
And, a special thank you to:
*Animal artist extraordinaire, Jeannette Hay, for graciously allowing me the use of the digital artwork of her painting entitled, "Cry for the Red White and Blue." She is Canadian, and created the piece in remembrance of 9/11. I am honored to have her phenomenal art grace the cover of Lone Wolf.
And, I was living in NYC on that fateful day and will never forget. So, this album cover has special significance to me in honor of and with great respect for the fallen.
*Sharp shootin' professional photographers, Michael Keel (in NYC) and Paul Landry (in LA), for my artist photos in the CD booklet.
Lone Wolf is dedicated to Johnny. He was originally to produce the album. We were in the early stages of pre-production when we lost him in late 2005.
Johnny was one of the very few I found over the years in the business who happily accepted unsolicited material as I searched for an independent production or co-production situation. When I sent him my many demos and he had a chance to listen closely, he said, "we are going to make a timeless, classic record." Needless to say that was music to my ears.
So, having never written a song in memoriam, I penned Tennessee Moon in his honor.
He was a "true" great friend, musician and producer, and I will forevermore be inspired by his "brotherly love" friendship and music camaraderie, and so appreciative for the confidence he had in me as a music artist and my songs.
Thank you Johnny! I hope I did you proud! Tip of the hat and big boots in the sky to you brother!
For the latest news, reviews, airplay, etc. ride on over to my MySpace Blog and enjoy the read. See you there, and thanks y'all!
As always, keep your freak flag flyin'!

Ron

BIO aka ONE SHEET
Ron Rutherford is a man whose life has been built around music.
He fondly recalls bouncing on the back seat of his Father's Chevy Bel Air to The Beatles singing "I Want To Hold Your Hand" on the radio.
"It was a typically beautiful Dallas, Texas day," he says, "blue skies and fair weather cumulus clouds out the windshield as we sped down the highway." It proved to be a seminal ride. He has been inspired by and passionate about music ever since.
Ron played piano as a kid in Texas. Moving to New York City as a young man, he took up guitar.
While living in New York, he played and sang around Manhattan and the Northeast; did some television and jingle work; was written up in the New York Times for his performances with The Rutherford & Steward Band; and wrote and performed briefly with legendary rock pianist, Nicky Hopkins.
Ron Rutherford's musical influences are eclectic and diverse including such artists as: The Eagles, Don Henley, Crosby Stills & Nash, Neil Young, Jackson Browne, Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band, The Steve Miller Band, Van Morrison, Rodney Crowell, Buddy Holly, The Everly Brothers, The Beatles, The Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, The Band, The Allman Brothers, Creedence, Little Feat, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Elvis Costello, Traffic, Leon Russell, Bryan Adams, John Mellencamp, Warren Zevon and Hank Williams.
Although growing up listening to and loving Rock and Roll on the radio and records, he had country music in his ears wherever he went, just from living in Texas - and both had a profound impact on him.
Ron Rutherford's music is something familiar you've never heard before - stories of love, loss, insight, and inspiration.
Picture a full moon over a long lost trail and a lone wolf that beckons the listener to follow to the end.
Ron Rutherford's album, Lone Wolf, ends too soon.
A potent mixture of Country Rock, Southern Rock and Classic Rock with elements of Blues and Pop. A unique voice and down-to-the-bone songs combined with the sounds of some of the finest musicians you've ever heard.
