Recently ranked Tennessee's 1 unsigned grunge rock band by myspace. com, Kings In Pieces has exploded on the music scene. Formed in April of 2007, K.I.P. has performed at many fantastic venues, such as The Emerald Theatre, The Royal Oak Music Theatre, The Ritz, The Crofoot, and St. Andrew's Hall. Originating out of Detroit, it was there where they were repeatedly ranked Michigan's top grunge rock band and opened for national acts such as Wes Borland’s Black Light Burns. Seen hanging in the music scene with both local and national acts such as Tantric and Framing Hanley, K.I.P. has proven to be one of the most respected bands coming out of Detroit City. By receiving play on radio stations like Detroit's world famous 101.1 fm WRIF and Nashville's The Buzz 102.9 fm, interviews on numerous internet radio stations, and having downloadable music on i-Tunes, Rhapsody, and Napster, Kings In Pieces has begun to touch the world with their sound. The bands fan base stretches across the country and across the world with many fans coming from all musical tastes and backgrounds. K.I.P. has also impressed a number of critics by continuously receiving fantastic reviews of their live performances. This four piece is made up of members that have and will continue to sacrifice their lives for the love of the music. Kings In Pieces consists of lead vocalist and guitar player James Nicholas, guitarist Shaun Zisler, bassist Johnny LaRose, and percussionist Kyle McAlpine. Backed with such equipment as Schecter guitars, Mesa Triple Rectifiers, Ampeg bass cabs, and Pearl drums, Kings In Pieces hold a superior live sound that impresses even the biggest audiophiles. With strong influences from 90's grunge and today's modern rock, K.I.P. withholds a flavor of sound that is loved by many and appreciated by all.
After prevailing from recent hardships centered in Detroit, Michigan, Kings In Pieces has made the decision to capitalize on opportunities that have been offered in Nashville, Tennessee. K.I.P. has recently relocated the band to the city and is looking forward to its first live performance which will be held at The Rock Bar on 3rd and Broadway in downtown Nashville, Tennessee, on November 22nd, 2008!
