How to Submit a Music Review
The Stereofame Artist of the Month Music Reviewing system is designed to allow all artists entered in the Artist of the Month contest an equal opportunity to be heard and scored by the Stereofame community.
As a music reviewer, you want to review as many songs as possible, plus leave well-constructed written comments to be considered for a "star review" badge.
Each music review you submit creates a score for that song. The artists with the highest scores are forwarded to the Stereofame Judges Panel where the winner will be selected.
Start Reviewing Music
To start reviewing music, go to the "Contest Page" on Stereofame and click "Review Music" for the August Artist of the Month Contest.
You will see the main Music Reviewers page with rankings for top reviewers, a sortable list of songs in the contest and a summary of your music reviewing activity.
When you are ready to start scoring songs, click the "Review Music" link.
Songs will be displayed randomly in groups of 3 at a time. At least one song from each group of three must be reviewed before you can proceed to the next group of three songs. Serious reviewers will want to review all songs to accumulate as many star reviews as possible.
You can sample all 3 songs in the group before starting a review. Once you choose a song to review, press play and listen to the track as you complete the music review form on the right.
The song must play for at least 90 seconds before you can submit your review, so take your time.
Explanations for each piece of the music review form can be found by clicking the pink question mark icon next to each critiquing attribute.
Written comments are optional, but can lead to bonus points if your written review is tagged as a "star review." Well constructed and helpful reviews qualify for a "star" badge which count considerably more than a standard review. Remember, the more reviews you submit, the better your chances are of winning the 10,000 Point Reviewer Award.
Once the song has ended and your review is complete, press the Submit button.
You are able to edit your reviews during the entire Stereofame Community review period of the contest.
With one review complete from a group of 3 songs, you can choose to review another song from the same group or view another batch of songs by pressing the "View Next Group of 3 Songs" link located above and below the songs currently on the page.
Keep Track of your Reviews
Your history of music reviews and tally of "Star Review" badges are always available in the top right corner of the music review section. Keep track of your reviews and see how you stand up next to other Star Reviewers by clicking the "Reviewer Charts" link.
The highest scoring reviewer will win 10,000 Stereofame Bonus Points.
Note: Star Review charts are updated periodically during the month.
