Inside Stereofame

Hey, have you ever thought, "Wow, this would be a cool song for a movie." Well now is your chance to feature one of your songs in a new film entitled "Like Dandelion Dust," staring an Academy Award winning actress! Thanks to STEREOFAME, there is a new contest that allows users to compete with their own original sound recordings.

How You Win:

STEREOFAME listeners vote by giving thumbs up to songs entered in the contest on the contest page or in the contest player. The top 10 songs in total points (thumbs up) at the close of the contest period will be deemed "finalists." Don't worry if you enter the contest late. The top ten finalists along with two "wild card" songs selected by STEREOFAME will be submitted to the film's production company and a final winner will be chosen for inclusion in the film. See contest rules for judging criteria.

What You Win:

The winning artist will have their original song recording included in the final cut of the film. The artist will receive on screen credit for their recording. In addition, STEREOFAME will fly the artist and a companion to the world premier in Hollywood.

Key Dates:

The finalists songs will be selected on July 1, 2008.
The production company will make their selection on or about July 10, 2008.
The announcement of the winner will be made on STEREOFAME and elsewhere in conjunction with other promotional efforts related to the film.

Faster Points Updates

You let us know that updating the points only once a day was boring, and we totally agree! Points will now be updated every five minutes, so you can follow your label and your favorite bands in almost-real-time. We're refreshing right now. Refresh. Refresh.

Unsigning an Artist

As more and more cool artists show up on Stereofame, that band you signed last week might not look so hot any more. Not to worry! Soon, you'll be able to drop artists from your label -- hey, real labels do it all the time.

Here's the catch. Just to make things fair, it's going to cost a few points to get rid of an artist, and more points if you've had them for a long time – as many as 250 points.

Too Many Thumbs Down

Some artists have been concerned about getting excessive thumbs down from the same one or two users. Don't panic! STEREOFAME is built to be as fair and honest as possible. Like Google, we have a secret recipe that ensures you’re not being hosed. Visit “the messy details” on the “How to Play” page to learn more. Good luck!
